Blog Comments

1. What do you think of our blog?
What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?
What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?
2. Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?

What other things could we include in the production?

How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

1. Your blog has a lot of detailed research and relevant pics of bollywood stars which compliments your narrative. I also like the layout and bright colours you used.

To improve, you could post up pics of filming in progress.

For your post production you could use a parallel soundtrack and fast cuts

* Your blog looks really good n lively, you have analysed a variety of trailers and looked at conventions

* When we looked at some of the footage in class, you need to use the tripod so footage is steady, and once or twice you zoomed in too quickly, you can also add more pictures onto the blog

keep up the good work:)

The ammount of research is good, although you could comment on what you personally think about it.

You could film in typical locations. You don't have to be in India to make seem as if it is.

You could try contrapuntal music as I think it would work well.

i think the blog is really nice with good detailed reserach, lot of pictures and research about bollywood movies, i like the way that u included a video of each movie analysed, so we could see which movie ur talking about.
it really good an idea to do a bollywood trailer, repesenting the indian culture to people from different backgrounds.
to improve ur blog, u can put pictures of ur shots, it will look really good.
when filming use a lot of bollywood convention, it will look great.
for the post production use parallel music, indian music and use lot of bright colours especially red which looks great, and dancing to make it look like a pure bollywood trailer.
good luck for the editing

*Your Blog looks really attractive. You have used a good range of colours whilst showing your research which makes it look attractive.
*I like the way you have included different trailers and film posters. this is because you can clearly see that you have put effort into researching specific trailers which will be like your production.
*For post production i think you should use very loud lively diegetic music which is parallel to what is being shown on the scree.
Good luck for post production. Keep up all the hard work.

1. Your blog's looking good as it detailed and alot of attention has been put in. The clips/trailers show the research you lot have been doing.

2. The footage is looking ok too. It just needs to be a bit steadier and the zooms a bit slower.

Good Luck..

1.i think your blog is really good especially all the research that you've carried out. I also like the fact that you've posted up videos.
2. You could post up some of the music that you may use in your production.
3.I think that as your production is a trailer you should have fast editing and a really dominant voiceover.

Good luck guys!!!!!!!!

There’s some good research posted up on your blog about film trailers which is good as now you have a good idea of what Bollywood trailer techniques you will need to appropriate. Your blog is nice and simple which is good as it makes it clear to read.

You could include some more up to date information about your trailer like shoot locations, characters, costume etc. Also, try to include a detailed structure of your trailer so that you’re slightly more focused and everyone else can see how your trailer is coming along.

Use a mix of scenes and moods of music in your trailer. As in have some upbeat energetic scenes of acting (everyday life) and possibly some sad songs so that the audience can get a good feel of your film and it looks eventful. Also are you using a voiceover? You could include character speech as a sort of voiceover. I’ve seen that in other trailers and it looks/sounds really effective and unique.

Good luck with everything and well done…

Oooooh this is such a wicked idea!! I cant wait to see this production as ive heard alot about it!
Yur blogs looks lovely... i love the indian posters!!
Uhmm..do indian film trailers have voice overs? not really sure about that...
But make sure the music is really upbeat as thats a convention that All trailers use.. the editing should also be really fast, but you could use flashbacks maybe, if that fits into your narrative.

I think your blog is really good, it has many different colours and sooooo much research showing you’ve put a lot of work into this production-so well done.
I think you should put up some of the footage so we can see it
I haven’t seen the actual footage so I don’t know... but I’m sure you’ve probably covered everything.
I think you should use non- diegetic music for the trailer as it will be more professional.
Overall, your idea is really different and seems really good so far, you’ve put a lot of effort into it so keep up the good work.

1. What i really like about your blog is that anyone can see how much fun you're having doing this trailer... which i guess is the main aspect of any production! :o)

2. Sometimes Bollywood trailers use still images edited really fast for like 2 seconds and they get faster and faster till it reaches the climax and this might be a good idea for you lot to use so why not post up some still images of your filming that you think you could possibly use? -Then atleast you've explored all the possible avenues for your trailer and if it doesn't work then you've got nothing to lose!

3. From what i saw in class, you cast are good but definately try to have a variety of locations and pick somewhere thats a bit more lavish that Hassan's road... maybe try filming in a field somewhere... like you know in films when you see them dancing in fields where the flowers are almost as tall as them? - yee... go on the motorway and see if you can find some place like that - then soomehow jump over and quickly film! ;o)

3. I think naziya's dancing reminds me of Aishwarya Rai in that film where she's dead... and its got Sharukh Khan in it - and Amitabh Bachan...and Hammad and Hassan remind me a bit of 'Dhoom' so if you have two totally different track, one slow one fast then that might sound very interesting!

2. Try and use a range of shots, which will make it look glamarous and attractive to the audience.

You have done alot of research on your topic and I think that your blog is very successful as you have contained alot of moving images such as the film trailers etc. You also have given alot of information about what will be in your trailer and this is interesting to see althoug I think that you would benefit from using various kinds of music like most indian films do as this will fit in with your genre.

The blog looks very organised and there is a lot of research on other indian movies.
You should try and include pictures of locations you will film in too.
We saw a test screening in class and the camera was a bit out of control like sometimes it was zooming in a bit too much shaking, once you get over this i reckon you'll have a good final production.

Chintan said...

1. You hgave show good, strong soild research with lots of examples, which will really help. Also we did a Bollywood coursework in GCSE, which also helps alot as you will have great knowledge of the topic.

2. Maybe you could have photos of the characters in their outfits and describe their role in the tralier.

3. One essential element you are missing is dance and music. Even in the traliers a short clip is shown of the dance and song routine.

4. The music you chose must be right as well.

Good luck!

This blog consists of alot of sources from other films which shows a good amount of detailed research. Also this idea is very original which gives it an authentic feel.

It could be improved by studying more on the setting as in a trailer they are very important.

Also more footage could be required as it would be good to have a wide range of shots to choose from.

1. I like the way you have researched a lot of the bollywood trailers that are appropriate at what you are producing
2. may be you could embed some of the videos onto the blog, so that we can watch the videos and read the research
3. May be in the finished you could have a lot of extravagant dancing, and may be make it really colourful, as bollywood movies and trailer are.

WELL HELLO DER WOMEN,

1. I WOULD LIKE 2 SAY EXCELLENT RESEARCH ITS GOOD N INFORMATIVE N UVE USED VIDEOS WHICH HELPS THE AUDIENCE UNDASTAND WOT U DOIN BETTA SO RELLLI GUUD.WELL DONE

2. ONE THING YOU COULD DO TO IMPROVE IT IS DAT U CUD USE SOME MUSIC OR SUM TRAKS WHICH YOU HAVE ELININATED FOR BEING IN THE PRODUCTION.

3.ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS OU SHOULD INCLUDE IN YOUR TRAILER IS THE WHOLE MTV AETHETICS THING, ITS SO COOMON IN TRAILERS AND IS A CRITICAL CONVENTION.

Nice analysis on your research, but a black background?? ... Its a Bollywood theme people- think nice and bright!

For your production, use original, typical bollywood conventions, you know that dancing girl hiding behind her 'dupatta'.. Well you know what i mean. It'll create authenticity i reckon!! Hope that helps!
